Pause, resume and cancel a CRM import

Control a CRM migration from Connections, with saved progress and settings fixed for each run. These are initial imports, not continuous two-way synchronization.

Steps

  1. Open Connections and review the latest run. If there are several runs, choose one from Import history. Workspace owners and administrators manage runs; people with read access can inspect progress.
  2. Run a preview and review matches, skipped records and conflicts before importing. A preview samples the first pages and does not create CRM records or grant marketing consent.
  3. Pause stops further page commits. Resume continues from the saved cursor and retains any provider rate-limit wait. A request already sent to the provider may finish, but a paused or cancelled run is checked before its page is committed.
  4. Cancel requires confirmation and stops the run permanently. Pages already committed remain in the CRM. Cancellation is not rollback, does not delete imported records and does not undo customer edits.
  5. Changing a connection credential or settings invalidates its active run at the next write boundary. Disconnecting also cancels queued and running imports. Reconnect and start a fresh preview.
  6. EmailPro MCP exposes import_status and control_import; a write-scoped key is required for controls. Pass the current control_version. If another operator changed the run, reload before trying again. Brand My Inbox MCP provides crm_connections, crm_imports and crm_import_status with leads:read. Owners and administrators with leads:write use crm_start_import (preview by default) and crm_control_import. Approve a real import or cancellation explicitly.

Questions

Does pause stop a provider request immediately?
No. The boundary is a database page commit. The current commit may finish before the pause takes the lock; subsequent commits are blocked until resumed.
