Import products from a CSV file

Bring a whole catalogue into CRM › Products from a file, including a product export from Shopify or WooCommerce as it is. You see every change before anything is saved.

Steps

  1. Open CRM › Products and choose a CSV file of up to 1 MB (2,000 rows, 500 products).
  2. One row per product, or one row per option: rows with the same product code are one product, and each row with an option becomes a size, colour or edition. A Shopify export repeats the Handle on every option row; a WooCommerce export names the parent product. Both read as they are.
  3. The preview counts what is new, what would be updated, what is unchanged and what conflicts, and lists every row it cannot import with the reason, for example a missing price or a cell that starts like a spreadsheet formula.
  4. A product someone edited by hand is never overwritten unless you tick the box to update those too. Products are matched by their external id, then by their code.
  5. Import saves the previewed file in one step. If the file changed since its preview, you are asked to choose it again.
  6. Availability is what the file states. It is not live inventory, and nothing is published by importing.
  7. From a connected Shopify or WooCommerce store, EmailPro can also read the products live: on Settings › Stores paste a read-only token, then preview and import exactly as with a file. An operator turns this on for the service first.
  8. MCP: crm_import_products previews by default and imports with the preview's digest, on Brand My Inbox and on EmailPro; store_catalog_preview and store_catalog_import read a connected store on EmailPro.

Questions

Can I undo an import?
Yes. Recent imports are listed under the import, each with Undo: products it created are deactivated and products it changed get back their previous values. A product someone edited after the import is left as it is and named. MCP: crm_product_imports and crm_undo_product_import.
