Export your workspace and move it

Download how your workspace is built as one file, check a file before you bring it in, and what to do before you leave.

Steps

  1. Open Settings, then Export and move. "Download the export" makes one JSON file with your custom fields, pipelines and stages, modules, lists, segments, templates, forms and automations with their saved versions.
  2. The file never holds credentials: API keys, connected apps and their tokens, webhook secrets, your own AI keys, sending and SMS credentials, channel connections, sessions and payment details are not read at all. Anything else that looks like a password, key or token is replaced with [removed], and the screen tells you how many.
  3. Your contacts are not in this file. Download them with the contacts export (CSV) and each module's records with that module's export. One person's full record comes from their contact page. Tick "Include the suppression list" to take the addresses that asked not to be mailed, so your next sender keeps honouring them.
  4. To check a file before you bring it in, choose it under "Check a file before importing". It is a dry run: nothing changes. It shows, per section, what would be new, what is already here and what clashes, and which parts setup can apply (contact fields, the default pipeline's stages, modules made from a template) and which you recreate by hand. Automations would arrive switched off.
  5. Before you leave: keep the export, download your contacts and module records, include the suppression list, remove the sending records you added at your DNS provider when you stop sending from here, and revoke the API keys, apps and webhooks you no longer need.

Questions

Who can export?
In EmailPro, people with the permission to export contacts and records; checking an import needs the permission to configure the CRM. In Brand My Inbox, the workspace owner or an admin. Every export, from either product, is recorded in EmailPro's audit log; Brand My Inbox's activity page does not show it yet.
Can you restore my workspace after I close it?
That is not promised. The file is your copy to keep; it is not a backup held for you.
Can an AI assistant do this?
Through MCP an assistant can read the export's summary or the file (workspace_export in EmailPro, crm_workspace_export in Brand My Inbox) and run the same dry run (workspace_import_preview, crm_workspace_import_preview). There is no tool that imports.
